Service Functionality:

How do I know my musik is secure and safe from corruption or loss?
We firmly believe in delivering a top quality service with maximum data security by ensuring multiple points of security and protection.

For starters all sensitive data, including credit card transactions, is secured using 128 Bit (or higher if you are using a higher level) Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Technology.

Secondly your data is protected behind one of the most secure data centres in the Southern Hemisphere. It has a top-rated international security standard ISO 27001 certification. Assurance is attained through 135 controls which cover all aspects of information security from physical access to network device control, password management, virus impact mitigation processes and managing security risks.

At the hardware level, we have hardware that is rated high grade commercial technology, designed to ensure greatest protection of your data against loss or damage.

Do you make a single copy of a song and give access to others to save on costs?
No. Your musik collection belongs only to you. We cannot grant numerous people access to the same song you have uploaded into your account. It is our business to not only protect your uploaded musik collection but also ensure no other person has access to it.

Can I buy more space if I run out?
Yes. We can upgrade your service whenever you require more space. We will discount the dollar amount of space required by the existing term of the service plan.

Can I sync my musik from my Save My Musik account to my mp3 device?
Yes. We are planning to offer this shortly. It is a high priority for our business and currently we are developing the best solution for our members. Feedback is always welcomed.

Can I download my musik files?
No. We are an online streaming and management site for your digital musik library. After you have uploaded your existing musik files to Save My Musik you will have the ability to stream them anywhere in the world on an Internet connected device. For legal reasons we cannot allow you to download them.

What do you mean by online streaming?
Once you upload your musik files (single tracks, whole albums, or even entire artist discographies; the choice is yours) you can play musik directly from your library. When you choose to play songs, your favourite musik player will play these songs as a stream of data directly from our servers (as opposed to being downloaded as a whole song and then played). It's like listening to your own private radio station.

Is your streaming service secure?
Yes. Instead of using an SSL protocol, which adds overhead that slows down streaming performance, we use an internal encryption mechanism that ensures security and performance are maintained. This means that when your musik is sent to you through the Internet it cannot be stolen or used by anyone else.

Can you explain what Public Beta means?
We have released an initial (and therefore 'new') piece of software, our musik service, to the general public. We cannot guarantee an error-free service, and as such, you may try for free our software for a limited time. If you wish to use our service longer our musik service is available for a annual fee.

What makes Save My Musik different from other online musik services?
We offer a complete online musik library management and streaming service. Some try and sync their software with musik files that are dispersed on local user drives and devices. Many other sites offer you no choice but to use their mandatory musik player. Save My Musik gives you the freedom to use your favourite player without the hassle of downloading and learning how to use unfamiliar software or being tied to a Flash based player that is tied to a particular website.

Why would I spend money on Save My Musik rather than buy a cheap hard drive?
There are many reasons our service differs from this alternative. Here are nine advantages of using Save My Musik over purchasing a cheap hard drive:

1. External hard drives have a shelf life of safely about three years after which the risk of failure begins to increasingly climb with each passing month. Your musik collection is always safe with Save My Musik.
2. In many cases when the hard drive becomes faulty, you cannot retrieve all your musik files. If you have an Internet connected computer you always have access to your musik library.
3. How long does it take you to entirely fill up the hard drive space you have purchased? Chances are you're not immediately taking full advantage of the asset you've purchased. Therefore, it is really as cheap as advertised?
4. Hardware always depreciates once it leaves the store, so there is no significant value from trying to sell it after a few years.
5. Though you can carry an external hard drive around, your musik is never protected against theft or loss.
6. Unless you purchase third party software or use an online backup site, there is no automated backup of files should anything happen to the hard drive.
7. The drive is susceptible to harmful Internet attacks and viruses.
8. The hard drive, with files saved on disk, becomes restricted to the operating system it is dependent on, making it difficult to attach to different computer systems.
9. You are fully responsible for your musik's safety and its portability, not the hard drive company.

What musik player does your site use?
Unlike many of our competitors, we at Save My Musik believe in freedom of choice. You should be able to listen to your musik on your favourite player and not be tied to software you are not familiar with. You don't have to waste time and bandwidth downloading an unfamiliar player to every device you want to stream your musik from.

What musik players are compatible with your site?
These players have been tested within our development team. Other players may or may not work. We will endeavour to expand our compatibility list in the near future.

What browsers are compatible with your site?
These browsers have been tested within our development team.

We are always happy to address any positive or negative feedback. We provide a support email service which we endeavour to answer promptly. Alternatively, you can visit our 'Contact Us' page and send us your comments.

What guarantee do I have that your company will be around and that I can protect my files from being permanently lost?
Our company's strategy is to become a long-time online musik management company. Though we cannot guarantee our company will not shut down we have a strong management team and highly skilled staff to ensure our continued viability in the years to come. Additionally we have forged strong supplier relationships with major international high tech companies.
